the insane sanity of interest

There is a theory stated that the strongest shape is a triangle. The reason is because the forces on a triangle are distributed evenly along its three sides. This makes triangle very rigid and resistant bending or breaking.

From those analogy, we can use it to explain the situation that has occurred lately from point of view a motivational theory. Humans today, tent to be selfish, calculating every interaction among society based on their own interests. The interaction and communication that occurs fosters in a community spirit based on common interests and goals, preceded by efforts to filters and infiltrate personal interest, very humane.

Because it takes the shape of a triangle, let me offer a definition of goals and individual interests from my perspective. I translate individual goals and interests into three types: power, recognition and earnings.

Motivation theory, one of a field of psychology that studies the factors that drive people to behave in certain ways. One of the most popular motivation theories is Maslow hierarchy of needs. He proposed that people are motivated to satisfy five basic needs: psychological needs, safety needs, love and belonging needs, esteem needs and self actualization. Motivation theories can be used in a variety of settings, including workplace, classroom and sport arena.

Power, recognition and earnings playing a role as inflated balloon. For some reason, we can only focus on one goal and hoping others can be obtained too. These three are all important factors that can affect people motivation and satisfaction. Of the three factors, power and recognition often seen as more important than salary. Power and recognition provide a sense of accomplishment and self-worth. In Maslow’s motivational theory, it is defined as self actualization, the peak need. However, money is still an important as it a foundation of basic needs and provide a sense of security.

The relation between power, recognition and salary is complex. Each factor is vary from person to another and from situation to situation. Triangle is the strongest shape, forces are distributed along three side, but in term of motivation and satisfaction, it is a different game, it just like playing balloon, to enlarge one side we must given up the others.
