monday reflection- instant era

Technology and communication arise in a way we cannot predict 10 years ago. It is in fact, jumping faster in pandemic situations several years ago. Social media nowadays, are not only the place to heal and entertain during your nap time. It is even more become like a “bible” for the youth.

The first stream where is technology I recognise arises from the old, came up with the YouTube born. It was built by the idea that ordinary people would enjoy sharing their home video. The company is headquartered in California. And YouTube now is arise bigger and more, then came this quote “YouTube is more than tv”. Is it true? Well, you can see the statistics, all over the world. People watch more in YouTube than in Tv, in fact statistically more than 100 million people watch YouTube and YouTube TV on their TV screen. And almost all the TV channels their self by streaming in YouTube too.  Watch time on YouTube that people search for “study skills” has increased more than three times year on year. About 50 billion of gaming content were watched on YouTube last 12 month. That represent how massive is YouTube, how people rely on and cannot live a life without it. We can see the inventor, innovator, cover and many more just from learning from YouTube.  

From youtube, there are many social media apps that making the same thing, in a short way. Named it, Instagram, TikTok, etc. They give shared video platform, not more that 5 minutes. Now the trending is TikTok. The Chinese technology launched in 2016. The app now saw more than a billion global daily users.  Only by relying on finger scrolling, we can watch many of short clip based on our reference. Technology, just like apps, having two sides of coins. It has so many benefit in one hand, but also has a negative side. Fast paced life nowadays, release the need of instant in almost everything. This has made problems. Suddenly we demanded to understand quickly, knowing faster, and learning short. The information stream in a faster way too. This has made us to adapt.

This situation must be managed wisely. Instant life will be killing the effort and ignoring the process of growing and development. Otherwise, the Z generation will think that those are the new standard, an era where everything must be achieved instantly. Everything that achieved quickly will be released quickly too.
